Some attention is being paid to lower scoring and "struggling to put together hits and runs." But softball is like that. First, every team is going to have pitchers. And besides those hitters that are hitting above .400, pitchers are generally going to get hitters out. Pitchers are the great equalizer in softball. Any team with a good pitcher(s) is going to have a chance to win.

Secondly, Louisville had some good hitters. SOme of their averages were not as good as our batters, but they had at least 2 hitters with 12-15 HRs...more than any VT hitter, including Slaw. So Keely and Emma did well to keep potentially dangerous hitters in check. Tennessee has good hitters. Those two pitchers largely shutdown two offenses who have hitters who can jack HRs.
